Some Like to Run, I Love to Walk

I have many friends who are runners.  The biggest runner of them all is Shuchir Bhatia .  He is such an athlete that I call him crazy!  He has run a (or multiple) marathons, goes for long jogs, and bikes all around town.  Just crazy!!!   Since everyone around me loves to run I thought of giving it a try too.  I even bought good quality Nike running shoes.  After all I am a girl who loves to shop and never have enough shoes!   But nope!   I know running is a great workout, but running is just not meant for me!  Sorry Running Shoes!

Soft and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Another great find in the US has been the chewy chocolate chip cookie.  The soft chewy cookie that just melts in your mouth.  I love Trader Joe's Charmingly Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies.  They are delicious.  One fine Friday evening I wanted to make and eat these cookies.  A little bit of research led me to Martha Stewart's Soft and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies.  The results were pretty awesome too.  Here are ingredients and instructions from the Martha Stewart site.

Chewy Coconut Cookies

In case  you don't know yet, I like to try all sorts of cuisines, though vegetarian or fish based food items only and cook/bake all cuisine types too.  Until I was India, my experiments were limited to cooking, due to lack of access to an oven and limited exposure to bakers.I don't think anyone in my family ever baked.  So when I landed in the land of opportunities, out of many opportunities that came my way, baking was one of them ... Americans love to bake and they are good at it too.. At gap intelligence, there are so many amazing bakers.  Cookies, cupcakes, brownies, cakes and so many other things! nom nom nom!

Guns or No Guns?!

I hardly talk about serious issues on my blog.  But today's Connecticut area school tragedy shook me deep down inside. This is the third such event in the last 6 months or less.  First heinous act of crime in the recent past was the shooting people inside the Wisconsin Gurudawara, second was shooting in the Portland area mall this past week, and today, shooting inside  a school, where a majority of who died were innocent kids.

It happens only in America!!
