I recently found that I had some Caramel sauce in my refrigerator which was set to expire the end of this month. Having grwon up in a culture where extreme importance is placed to food and how every single bit of it should not be wasted I went straight into thinking mode what to do with it..
Both A and I LOVE the Chocolate dipped granny smith apples that they sell at the chocolate factory. I earlier tried to make a slightly healthier version that involved jaggery but failed miserably. However, this time I was showered with Success ;)
These apples have multiple layers of deliciousness - Chocolate, Caramel, Coconut, and nuts....

:Imported from my old blog: Coconut Chutney
Take freshly ground coconut - 2 cups
Take split Daliya - 1 cup
Take green chillies - about 2 - 3 depending on taste.
coarsely grind all these three with a lil sugar and some water.... (not much water start by adding a little)
after this add a little salt and then grind further
You may heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Wait till they pop completely.
Add this to the chutney and add some coriander leaves.
I prefer to cool the chutney after adding oil and mustard seeds while some prefer to have it hot... either which ways it tastes good!
